Because of my development and training background, I frequently work with technical documentation and web content. However, I especially enjoy working with nonnative English speakers, creative content, and nonfiction.
I’ve edited bilingual (French and English) packaging for a package design company. This requires a strong eye for detail and consistency, as well as solid knowledge of French grammar and an intuition for vocabulary. I also have a strong foundational knowledge of Spanish, Italian, German, Czech, and Russian.
For two years, I was the managing editor for the nonprofit group, GHF Learners. As such, I’ve created an in-house style guide and created standard practices across for all content, including books published through their press arm and all online content (newsletters, blogs, community posts, etc.). I edit email newsletters, promotional content, and nonfiction books, as well as fact-check, confirm and format all references and citations, and proofread final layouts. I design the book layouts for print in Adobe InDesign and polish eBook/Kindle layouts.
