Technical Writing
At a glance:
- As a former trainer, I am particularly skilled at communication with and for non-technical users
- Nearly 20 years of experience in documentation of technical processes
- Technical Writing certification from Bellevue College Continuing Education
- Certified Editor (through University of Washington Professional and Continuing Education)
- Able to translate technical communication from French (see: Translation)
- Strong technical background
My career in the tech world began in the IT department of a long-term life insurance company. At that time, I was tasked with creating documentation and small training sessions on Word, Powerpoint, and basic computer usage for employees throughout the company. Since that time, I have written a great deal of “how-to” documentation over the past fifteen years.
I have been writing, in some form or another, since I was first able to hold a pencil. After I completed my degree at the University of Washington, I knew that I wanted to return to my love of writing and of languages. Since I have such a strong foundation in web development and technology, I decided to refine my tech writing skills by completing the Technical Writing certification program through Bellevue College Continuing Education. Along with my technical know-how, my background in Training makes me particularly skilled in explaining and writing for the layperson and non-technical users.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
