I call shotgun!

It had completely slipped my mind to think that we could get married now and do a party thing later.  (Thanks, Unabashed!)

So I think that’s what we’re going to do.  Only thing is, Hank is on lockdown from August until the game is released in March – which means other than the 2 week paternity leave, no time off.  Which leaves July.  And I’m away for work for a chunk of the last half.

Which means if we’re gonna do it, we’re gonna do it in the next two weeks.

Considering the whirlwind-ness of our entire relationship, it seems pretty par for the course.  We met one night, and less than 3 weeks later I was dumping someone (who lived in the Caribbean, nonetheless) the day before Thanksgiving to fly out to LA with Hank, instead.  I didn’t move, then, I’d just come out with him for a week when he moved, and while here, I gave in and dumped every plan I had to move out here and be with him a couple months later.

I say I “gave in” because he was gunning for it from the moment we met.  He was convinced we were meant to be – I was feeling a little burnt on whirlwind romances and that “meant to be” feeling. He’d just gotten out of a relationship, also, and all the warning lights were flashing in my mind.  I figured eventually he’d want his alone time, while trying to “reinvent himself” in LA.  I’d learned to be very, very wary of men who used phrases like “reinvent myself.”

I thought it was foolish and dangerous and he couldn’t possibly be serious.

But lo and behold, he was quite serious.  And I guess he got to reinvent himself, after all.
