long time, no see?

Oh, dear god I have a lot to tell you people. My laptop keyboard is !@#$%^& up, so pardon the typos and extra spaces.

For starters – I’m doing well. I’m stumbling along the way, but I personally feel like I’ve made more progress in the past couple weeks than I have in years.

I’m having issues because I’m finally feeling like I know what I want – I can see it so clearly, but I have to keep waiting.

I’m having all kinds of life-changing, life-affirming, deep thoughts these days.

Anyway – because of wacky circumstances, my plans have changed a bit. I was supposed to leave tomorrow morning, for Prague, but I’ll be staying on here in Portugal another few weeks. I’ve spent a lot of time here in Portugal stuck by someone’s side – and now I’m looking forward to sending him off to work while I explore Lisbon on my own. I feel stronger to be able to get myself around and to remember that I am someone who will hop a metro in a foreign city and bounce on and off each stop to see what’s there.

I accidentally discovered this AMAZING photo exhibit in Lisbon called Earth From Above.

Earth from Above is a stunning portrait of our planet. Each of the 120 photographs in the exhibition is accompanied by a caption written by an expert on sustainable development. Together, they invite viewers to reflect on the changes taking place on our planet and the future of its inhabitants. The photographs reveal not only the beauty of the Earth, but also the impact humans have made on our fragile planet.

It was absolutely amazing, and sad. I took a few pics, which you’ll see shortly (I’m uploading about 300 more pics now). If you ever get a chance to see it, go. If my keyboard weren’t driving me mad, my head wasn’t fuzzy on tawny port, and I didn’t have 300 pics to deal with, and an email to my parents to write, I’d write a thousand words telling you about what a wonderful, romantic, perfect and straight-out-of-a-movie that exhibit was.

My life is in transition right now – the changes, my desires are tangible and it’s driving me nuts that I can’t find the words to talk about it right now. I’ll keep trying…

So, without further ado, more photos (I’ll post random photos in each post from now on):
