to hell and back

March 20, 2005 By Nikki Leave a Comment

I’m becoming well traveled. Cape Sargres, in Portugal, is what was once known as the end of the world – sailors thought that if you went past the horizon, you’d be burnt to a crisp by the flames shooting from the mouths of dragons and other monsters.

The Dhali Lama stood on the Charles Bridge in Prague and declared it the center of the world. I guess he meant that it was beautiful? But now I can say I’ve been to the end of the world and live in the center of it.

And I don’t feel a day older.
