Hey! So that 3 weeks of Winter Break went by really, really, really quickly. I had a list of things I’d hoped to do over that time but the only thing I really did was “relax” and “fuck all.” We didn’t even do much Christmas stuff until right AFTER Christmas. Oops. We made it out to Country Village in Bothell (chickens!). I dusted off my sewing machine and finally made a Christmas stocking (could use some work but a solid first go at it.) We got finally got out to West Seattle for our annual viewing of the Menashe Christmas house (we usually do this several times before Christmas but this year only went one AFTER. Oops.) Husband & I went to the movies to see “The Big Short” (great acting, great movie, horrifying to watch.) My mom came to visit, The Nugget wore his crazy little “Artis” hat from the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam (we brought it back for him a few years ago.) I drank lots of lattes (what else is new.) I didn’t do much yoga but I DO do “hollow back” a million times a day because it feels so good. And I got crafty with the Christmas present wrapping.
I’m enjoying my last few days before all hell breaks loose again. I have a 3-class / 15 credit load for Winter Quarter AND I signed up for a 6 week Ashtanga workshop. I’ve kind of blown off yoga, other than teaching, for a couple of months and I’m looking forward to getting back into it – specifically, a workshop that will help me develop a home practice.
Oh. OH! And I’ve done some reading. I’m going to try to keep up some leisure reading during this quarter – too many times I become so immersed in classes that the ONLY things I read are textbooks and math problems. I’ve made it a sort-of rule to use the time I spend on the bus (going to UW campus) for leisure reading. We’ll see how that continues to go…
